MLP New York Event Recap

Major League Pickleball (MLP) finished its seventh event in the 2025 regular season at the Sportime Randall’s Island in New York City.

The event hosted 12 of the 22 MLP teams, including six of the Premier Level teams.

Let’s get into the action.

The Hogs earned 10 points from their five matches, 2 points per match. Roscoe and Ben played well enough, and their mixed doubles were great. They lost to Brooklyn in the most competitive match of the weekend, 20-22.

This team is now a real threat to make the playoffs, needing to average 1.67 points per match in their last six matches (in my estimation).

Hometown Hero Erik Forsythe Made his MLP Debut Forsythe was brought in for an injured Donald Young, and made the most of his MLP debut with the New York Hustlers.

Young had some sort of shoulder/neck injury that he aggravated while hitting a two-handed backhand. He tried to press through it in a match on Friday, but couldn't continue on in mixed doubles. Down 0-6, Donald left the match, and in came on-site alternate Erik Forsythe, AKA the Jungle Cat.
